Gayle Gregory, leadership coach and co-author of The Grand Experiment: An Expedition of Self-Discovery, believes the source of innovation begins in a place of fearlessness. It is a place of not trying to force things to happen and not worrying
Most people are not aware that they have fears, or if they are, don’t know how to over come them. Take the mystery out of unleashing your inner creativity with Gayle.
Below are the strategies to realize your true potential:
1. Be prepared to observe your fears.
Everyone has fears, fears of not having the needed resources, of not being good enough, of not having the power to do what you need to do or not having the right answer. Stop and observe! Be prepared to see which fears are determining your life and preventing you from the source of natural innovation.
2. Challenge your fears.
Once you’ve recognized your fears, invite them out in the open and study them carefully. Invite them to sit down next to you and really get to know them. They are your step-children and merely require your interest and curiosity. When you face them and stop avoiding them, you’ll find they begin to dissolve. Fear is only powerful when we keep it hidden.
3. Release your potential.
You’ll be able to find that place of creativity more and more as the layers of fear begin to dissolve, since fears are what keep you from reaching that place of clarity, the spring of innovation and flow. A fearless warrior is one who is so committed to reaching that place that fear can’t hold them back. Inspiration doesn’t have to be rare. You should feel inspiration everyday.
You’ll be better able to tap into the source of creativity when you put these techinques to work.
