There’s more to Hunter ceiling fans than you think. If you don’t know how to look for the right fan for your particular use, you might end up picking the wrong one. This isn’t just about getting the fan design that you like. Aside from style and design, you also need to think about what you will be using the fan for and where you will be placing it.
- The size of the room where the fan will be placed is always a major concern. A big room like a family living room should have a fan that has blades over 60″ or at least 50″. A room that isn’t so big but isn’t too small would do well with blades over 40″ Smaller blades below 40″ would do well in small areas like laundry rooms.
- You can have a very wide room with low ceiling height. You should at least make sure that you have a ceiling height that will allow seven feet between the blades and the floor. On the other hand, if have a very high ceiling, you should pick a fan that has a down rod.
- Find out what you want a ceiling fan for. Ceiling fans can be decorative or functional. They can also be used indoors or outdoors. Common sense will tell you that delicate designs and small motors are best fit for indoor or decorative use. Fans that you intend to constantly use or those you use outdoors should be built with sturdier materials and should have powerful motors.
- Another factor to consider when picking Hunter ceiling fans is your design preference. You may already have a theme or design for your room. In this case, all you need to do would be to find a fan that fits your theme. Finished wood would naturally look best in a room with wood furniture too. People with more modern tastes may prefer the fans with white blades. A third option would be to pick a fan that has blades that can be reversed so the color or finish can match a new room theme.
- Another point of concern would be fan accessories. The top accessory of all time would be the remote control. You can choose a Hunter fan that can be controlled even when you’re on your back.
- Lights are another fan accessory that you might appreciate. Hunter fans can have their own light fixtures or you can choose matching kits to fit on your fans. Naturally there are different light fixture designs. You also have to consider though whether you prefer uplights for more subtle illumination or downlights for direct lighting.
You can’t just pick your Hunter ceiling fans randomly. In order for you to get the right fans for every room, you have to give it careful thought and consideration. Start by thinking of the basic points given above.
We have mass production to thank for making the products we need available to use when we need them and generally where we need them. Mass production also makes many of those same products affordable. But mass production simply cannot match the quality you get when you buy things that are handmade. And quality is one reason antiques are getting more popular.
This definitely applies to antique picture frames. These frames will show off your favorite pictures or artwork in a way that a store bought frame simply cannot. They will not only protect those cherished possessions, but draw attention to them.
Sure a standard store bought frame can still make your pictures look great. But put that same photo in an antique frame and you can almost feel the difference. Don’t try to explain it because you probably can’t. But you will notice it just the same.
Do you have a picture of your great grandfather displayed somewhere in your home? How much meaning would that picture have if it was displayed in a frame that he once owned, or maybe even one he made?
Perhaps that frame is not available to you. No problem. Try displaying it in a frame made around the same time the picture was taken. Now you don’t just have a picture with a border around it, you have something more. The picture and frame will look like they belong together, and they do. People will notice. You’re guests will comment. Everybody’s eyes will be drawn to it.
And with an antique frame there’s very little reason to worry about quality. I’m not some old timer who thinks everything made in my day was better than it is today. But I do think that when you buy an antique, you’re getting something that you know was handmade with pride and quality. That’s still available today, just not as often.
Almost every antique frame was surely handcrafted. That means the maker probably went to great lengths to make sure his product was fabulous. You’ll notice it if you look closely at the detailing. We know you can still find this today, but quality is just one of many reasons why antique are generally better. We’ve already touched on some of the others.
At this point you’re probably thinking that all sounds great, but you simply can’t afford a true antique. And it’s true that these frames can be costly. Go to your local antique store or local consignment shop and when you check the price tags, you just may end up gasping for air. And it doesn’t matter if the frame is gold, silver or wood; you’re probably still going to feel a bit of sticker shock.
Many people will now do one of two things. They will either give up and go to their local discount store, or they fork over their money thinking they have no other choice. But there is another and better choice. You should be patient and look around. Check local consignment stores and look online. If you take your time, you will eventually end up with the frame you are looking for at a price you can afford.
And when that happens, go ahead and buy it. Bring it home or have it shipped to you. Then display that favorite photograph and right away you’ll see the difference.
You won’t be the only one. Friends, family members and guests will soon be commenting on the picture and frame as well.
Whenever you introduce a new house plant, it should be checked for insects and disease before placed alongside clean plants already present in your home. It does not matter where your plant came from, prevention is the best tactic. Begin by cleaning and applying an insecticide treatment to any new plant. If they are clean there’s not much to worry about, as far as pests are concerned, but it is still recommended to apply pesticides frequently.
Cleaning, or sponging, a plant’s foliage has multiple benefits. By removing dust from the leaves, you open up the pores, technically called stomata, used by a plant to breathe. Like anything that has life, plants must be able to breathe. House plants should be dusted monthly. Simultaneously, you should remove any insects, eggs or pupae present.
Pest Control
This method is perfect for plants with large leaves but for cleaning those with dense foliage, like ferns or grasses, dipping is preferable. This process should be done in a large sink, tub, or somewhere you can completely immerse your plant in an insecticide solution. You’ll want to keep your plant in this location until it dries completely.
Sponging and dipping are effective in removing the following pests: aphids, a plant-eating, plant lice; thrips, minute insects with fringed wings; and red spiders, actually a type of plant-feeding mite closely related to arachnids. Unfortunately, there are more tenacious pests that necessitate more extreme measures. Mealy worms and scale insects are examples of these troublesome pests.
Telltale signs of a mealy bug’s infestation are the actual presence of the small, yellow bug covered with a powdery, wax matter. Because this wax-like covering is quite water-proof, spray insecticides are worthless. Brushing each insect off and soaking them each methylated spirits will result in their demise. The second step, equally important, is to follow with sponging the entire plant, as described above. This two-step treatment is the most effective in providing your plant relief from these insect.
Because of their scaly coverings and shaper, scale insects are similar in appearance to that of freshwater snails, or limpets, thus the origin of its name. Individual removal of the insects, using a match or piece of wood, from any leaves or stems is required due to its impermeable outer coat resistant to insecticides. Again insecticide sponging is an essential step in treating your house plant. It will destroy any eggs that may have been left behind.
Special insecticides are also available for controlling ants, earwigs, woodlice and slugs.
Soil Quality
Although controlling pests is crucial, soil maintenance also offers multiple benefits. Vital to your plant’s health is the use of clean dirt when adding top soil or repotting. To sterilize compost, it must be heated in a heat-resistant container to kill any insects, larvae, disease, weeds, seeds, and roots. This process also releases organic nutrients and improves the soil’s fertility. During the 20 minutes of the heating process, at a temperature no greater 85?C, the soil should be stirred sporadically and later removed and spread out to cool off. Do not try using the soil until well cooled. The same results can be obtained by using naphthalene powder or ?Aldrin?, the brand name for a chemical soil sterilizer.
Fungal Disease
Mildew is the most common fungal disease and appears on the top of houseplants leaves and stems. This fuzzy white matter should be treated with fungicides, watch out on Dracaena corn plants and bromeliads. By sifting the powder over the leaves and upper and lower areas of the plant, you will effectively cure your houseplant of this disease.
These days a bedroom is much more than just a room where you sleep, it?s a multipurpose room and is very personal. You can quite quickly get attached to your room which will make it difficult to change it if you want to. One of the main purposes of this room is still sleeping which means it?s a very personal room. Any changes that you make could affect the quality of your night?s sleep which can affect many other aspects of your life.
In order for any bedroom interior design project to be successful you need to put a lot of thought into it. This will help you find out any potential problems before you run into them. Even something like moving a bed might not seem like much, however it can potentially alter your sleeping patterns. Once you have decided on the type of thing that you want then you should start planning, you might want to plan several different stages so that you can gradually get used to your new bedroom.
Bedroom design can be compared to bathroom interior design, in that you don?t actually need to replace everything in the room to get a new look. In the bathroom for example you can simply hang a new shower curtain, and several other fairly small things to make the room look different.
A similar thing is possible with your bedroom, you can get some new sheets, new curtains and even a new comforter. Although these are fairly small things they can make your room look different overall. These changes aren?t necessarily interior design changes as they are too small if done individually. These are a great way to make your room look different without spending a fortune.
Choosing colors for the bedroom
When you start to plan your bedroom interior design project you might be tempted to put a new color on the wall, or use colored wallpaper. Adding color may seem like a great idea, however you need to make sure that it is a color which is good for use in a bedroom. You will probably spend the majority of your time in the bedroom. You shouldn?t really use bright colors as these could prevent you from sleeping.
Most paint companies produce specific colors and shades for use in the bedroom, as do wallpaper companies. You should have a look at what they suggest for use in a bedroom before you splash any old color on your wall. For example if you paint your room bright vibrant yellow then it might look wonderful, however it can make it difficult to sleep. Also a blood red colored room could cause you to have nightmares. The color is very important and so you need to make sure that you choose carefully.
It?s really good to spend time on a bedroom interior design project because it will be the place where you spend most of your time. You just need to make sure that any changes you make are ones that you like and can handle.
So, you have created a website; nonetheless, you have simply not obtained the results you were hoping for. Traffic isn’t coming your way. You need to realize that if you aren’t getting traffic, you aren’t getting visits that can result in sales. Why is this? Why is your website not producing the results you want? Well, simply put, establishing a website for your business is just the first step, you then have to find ways to make it work.
Here are some tips that can help you build a functional and profitable website.
1. Navigation. People must be able to navigate your website with ease. People visiting and potential customers must be able to find precisely what they are searching for when they look. If you make your visitors hunt for anything, you can be sure that they will get frustrated easily and give up, which means you have just lost a potential sale. Therefore, take care that all pages are linked to one another and can be navigated to and from anywhere in your website with minimal effort.
2. Professionalism. Professionalism has to shout from your website. It must appear as professionally designed and work as such. Clean, crisp and appealing is what your graphics should be.
3. Lure Traffic. Try using advertising tricks which really help, like AdWords, AdSense, pay per click and others like them. These are great methods of getting targeted traffic. Targeted traffic is crucial. Should you have a business which involves cake decorating, you’ll want those interested in cake decoration, confections, and all of the other aspects of it. This website would not be useful to someone looking for pet food. It is always good to get traffic on your website, however, it is not useful if the traffic is not from your target audience.
4. Sales. To increase your sales, you need to increase your likability. This means you have to gain the trust of your visitors. You can do this by prominently displaying your guarantee, privacy policy, and terms and condition statements.
5. Build Your Customer Database. You can receive information to get in touch with your potential customers to eventually make them paying customers, if you give them a free gift. Everyone loves free stuff. Maybe a free report based on your niche would be perfect. You would offer this free report, e-book, or other product on each page of your website. You also will want this to be located in an area that has text boxes that function to obtain information about your customers, at the very least their name and email address.
All of the above tips are perfect for increasing your traffic and increasing your sales, which is ultimately what you are looking for. The success of your internet business depends on the success of your website.
Times have certainly changed, knitting and sewing which are exceptional crafts are diminishing slowly, This generation of children are more interested with X box and Wii than with sewing and knitting. Not to mention the mass production of goods from china and alike, finding unique is becoming rarer by the day.
I bet your always on the look out for that perfect gift. Something thats unique. Well I have made it my personal pursuit to find things that are unique. Might I say that on my trip to Africa I most definatley found it. Yes I did! The African folks would have to be without a doubt some of the most talented artisans in the world. They make these unbelievable wirework sculptures.
These talented artisans from the Ndebele and Zulu tribes express themselves through this very art form. Dating back, they used the beadwork mostly for costume jewelry or ceremonial occasions, using organic materials, but now with the introduction of glass beads through overseas visitors, there artistry has turned to something with a more modern and creative twist.
Customarily over the years, the women in the tribes were well- known for their beading of costumes and also the weaving of baskets. Put these two practices together and they started creating the most oustanding creations.
Today Africa is experiencing a wirework revolution. Numbers of talented artisans, are making these steel wire sculptures and then beading them with bright bold colors. They use a galvanized pliable wire, they start by constructing a shape, it could be an animal or in some cases they use bottles, they start by moulding the wire around the bottle. Then comes the intriguing part, they bead these shapes and bottles with the most amazing colors. The beadwork itself is complex and difficult, in the past women dominated this incredible art of beading, however now the items are readily made and sold to tourists, both males and females alike now do the beadwork.
Due to Africa’s high unemployment rate, its common practice for the women in the villages to sit and bead. The tradition of beading is past on through the generations. Traders from each village collectively sell there work at nearby markets and street stalls. It is an everyday occurrence to see these talented artisans sitting on the pavement constructing and beading the most amazing creations. Amazing is an understatement, they have to be seen to be believed! The task requires a steady hand and lots of patience. Each design is unique and charismatic; no two pieces are the same. The types of designs they create vary, you can find wall art such as spider webs and butterflies not to mention animal sculptures, motorbikes & beaded bottles, the array of products and designs are certainly endless.
Africa is an exceptional place, with such talented people. There beadwork is brilliant. Old age traditions with modern creative designs. Definatley worth a look!
To be able to start an internet business takes time and a lot of patience. These two elements are items that most people do not have, nor wish to have. If you are willing to put in the hours, the rewards will come in the long run.
If you wish to be successful in online marketing you have to carry a positive attitude, an attitude that believes in yourself and your skills. I worked for many years before I even earned a dime from a sale.
The general feeling around the world is that an internet business is lucky and easy to attain. In fact, it is quite the opposite and many people find that out the hard way. Don’t be let down though, you just have all the more less in terms of competitors.
Your success depends on how bad you really want to achieve your goals. Set goals for yourself and don’t stop until you reach them. Far too many people end up quitting long before they even had a chance.
If online marketing is something completely new to you, frustration and confusing ideas are probably two well known friends of yours. Don’t worry, everyone is confused when they start off, because getting started is actually the hardest part.
Try and find advice for free when it comes to internet marketing. Search out forums and discussion boards that offer to give advice and mentoring. After you understand some principles of marketing, then I suggest you join a paid membership.
Riches do not come overnight. Sure, as an experienced marketer you can make thousands in one day, but not the average newcomer. This is why so many give up and think that they got scammed. It is a sad reality.
Sticking to a blueprint for success is actually most of the work. The rest is just checking off the steps as you reach them. You would be amazed as to how efficiently you can work when you have something to follow.
So what do you need to start? You need to research what kind of product to sell, who to sell it too, a website, and a place to host your website on the internet. The marketing will get easier for you as you gain experience.
Saving time on a web design project is going to do two things. First, it is going to make for a happier client since the job is completed faster. Second, the web designer saves time and maximizes their earnings per hour as a result. One of these time-saving measures we use is the include construct.
The include construct in PHP is actually a lot like a function, but we call it a language construct simply because we view it as a piece of the PHP language. The include construct in particular is going to enable a web developer to include a remote file into the currently running application. It may seem unexciting, but this is a very big time saver.
The number one reason to use a PHP include is to save time. As it is said, time is money, and saving time can give way to more work- which means more money. Time is saved with the PHP include since we can use includes to dynamically change multiple pages at once. By referencing a single remote file on each page, we can update every page through one file.
Many use the PHP include simply to get better organization- as if commenting one’s code wasn’t enough. PHP includes allow one to cut down many lines of code, but the application won’t be any faster as a result. The contents of the remote file are still being read into the current application upon execution. Just because the code isn’t there doesn’t mean it isn’t processed.
Another good function of the PHP include is to keep things in working order. If an include fails, we are going to get a visible error message. Now this isn’t always a good thing, since some error messages will expose confidential information about the running script. In more precise situations, we would use the require construct to halt the entire script should it not complete correctly.
Because PHP will only function under the PHP extension, web developers should get into the practice of forgetting the HTML extension and switching to PHP. If they don’t, the time will come when they see that PHP is the better alternative, and fixing the extension on hundreds of pages isn’t going to be much fun at that point in time.
Closing Comments
Web developers all around the world are getting in on the PHP statement that is saving time for repetitive tasks. To accurately use the command, be sure to brush up on the include statement by reading manuals and documents relating to the include statement. If necessary, look for a few include tutorials to make sure the basics are covered.
Adding plants to your home decor is a healthy choice that makes your home more appealing and gives it a nice down-to-earth and natural look that can get lost in all the high-tech gizmos that occupy our homes now. It can also provide an excuse to redecorate, and may even inspire you with added creativity when incorporating them into your existing room settings.
If you’re looking to add a specific plant to your home, you won’t have the option of what style or color it comes in. This can be offset by your choice of pot to house it in though. Pots now come in all shapes and sizes, different materials, various colors, and with all manner of designs or patterns on them. The size may be determined by the plant you’ll be keeping in it, but all other choices of style will be completely up to you.
For the simple rustic look, a clay pot works great. Pots with patterns or shapes on them can work well to seamlessly blend in with the designs present in other pieces of furniture, paintings and pictures, etc. A bright yellow pot could be used to dramatically light up a darkened corner.
If planting bonsais, you may want to use oriental themed pots to keep a nice level of consistency. Red ceramic works very well in this regard, and anything that contains Asian characters would also work nicely. In a room that already has an Asian influence, a bonsai with matching pot would look brilliant. Just as a theme works well in that regard though, the opposite may be better in other circumstances. Dramatic flowering plants may do better in more subdued and simple pots to avoid them collectively being too showy, and to keep the attention on the flower itself. Likewise, simple and unassuming plants may too well in gaudy pots that attract attention.
Remember also that the placement of indoor house plants in relation to each other and other objects in the room can have an effect on their perception by viewers. Having pots housed on a multi-tiered stand can give a small room the impression of more space. Round pots convey a sense of solidity, while asymmetrical pots show a unique and stylish side. Single, large plants in a corner will draw attention, as will hanging plants. This can be wise for some corners and unwise for others, when the viewers attention should be focused elsewhere, such as at a nearby T.V.
By getting creative with your plant and pot choices, you can open up an unlimited world of possible combinations and styles. This will take your design sense to new heights and make your home that much more appealing as well.
During the winter months it?s normal for people to long to be in a warmer climate, and so would like to incorporate elements to suggest a tropical environment. Not only does this improve the mood, but it will also help people to relax and escape the pressures of modern life. Some people even decorate the wall in front of their desk at work with a poster of a tropical scene. These are to try and distract people that they are at work, and make them think of happier times. Everybody thinks of going on vacation when they see tropical scenes, which helps to relieve stress.
Simple ways to create a tropical theme
Posters are all well and good, but there?s much more you can do to create a great theme. Tropical environments are quite simple, and tranquil to help you relax. You should be able to imagine sitting out on the beach with the warm wind rushing through your hair and the sand between your toes! The tropics should be somewhere that you can relax, and there are many elements that you need to include to pull the theme off successfully.
If you go into a bar that has attempted a tropical theme then you will probably be quite disappointed as not many of them manage to pull it off! Sometimes if enough care is taken then it works perfectly. Many people wonder why it works sometimes, but fails others. The key is to create a warm, light and inviting atmosphere. The light should be as natural as possible, industrial lighting simply isn?t any good!
During nighttime the light dims, but there is still plenty of light provided by fires. There is still a warm breeze, although it is a little cooler. If you want to create the perfect theme then you should fit some huge windows, and make sure that you control the temperature so that it is kept warm during the day and cooler at night.
Bamboo
Bamboo isn?t really associated with the tropics, however using it in a tropical themed room can work wonders. You can use bamboo in many places, as wall coverings, mats, ceiling coverings, and even flooring. Bamboo can create a unique look for your room, since it?s a natural product every item will be slightly different. A bamboo hardwood floor is a great way to bring some extra color and design into your room easily.
To help the theme along even more you could use some fake palm tree leaves, you just have to be careful not to make it appear too tacky. Try to choose drapery fabric which fits the theme. Bamboo and palm trees will make anyone think that they are in Jamaica!
Making someone feel that they are tropical is fairly easy, but if you do it right you can improve that feeling even more! Just remember to focus on the basics. You need to have lots of light during the day, dim lighting at night and a warm environment.
