They will look up, see the banner, and wonder, “What does it say?” or “Who’s spending a lot of money trying to get us to know about their product?” For as much as seventeen seconds, they are able to read the banner several times. Some will have it memorized in that time. The uniqueness made an impression. They will remember the product.

Just the uniqueness of the delivery causes many to remember the product because it stands out from everything else that is fighting for their attention.

Concerns of air pollution caused by the plane can be put aside as this is much less than the amount of waste produced by discarded print advertisements reaching the same number of people. Comparatively, aerial advertising is much less invasive.

Those interested in a cost effective means of making their product or service known in a specific local area would do well to consider aerial advertising.

How to pump up your copywriting with “micro-hooks

Nobody really talks about them.

Sure you know about hooks… but how about “mico-hooks”? That’s how we get people reading our ads.

To keep my prospect reading, I use lots of “micro-hooks” to keep them engaged with my salesletter.

Since humans are a curious lot… leaving things temoprarily incomplete is a secret weapon I use to keep them engaged with my copy.

In fact, when things are left incomplete, people feel downright uncomfortable at least until the loop is completed and closure is brought about.

Sure… it’s pretty basic psychology, but it’s a great weapon in your copywriting arsenal.

Mark Joyner talkes about this phenomena in his book Mind Control Marketing. It’s called the Zeigarnik Effect.

In the ad I wrote for Marks 7 Day business turnaround, there were hooks galore in the body copy.

Here’s a sample:

I was explaining the exact 4 steps involved in a business turnaround.

Then I said

“That’s it. Pretty simple… at least on the outside. With that strategy alone, you could engineer a turnaround. If you know the tactics to accomplish each step, my work is done here. Go forth and execute. If you don’t… keep reading to uncover your answer. Okay, seems pretty simple doesn’t it?”

But I didn’t give them all the details… but enough to give some real information.

I told them if they didn’t know the strategies… they would be revealed in the letter.

Do you think that made people uncomfortable?

No doubt many were intensely curious… and searched for the answer.

How about another sample…

A little ways down in the copy, I explained the mechanism behind turnarounds.

Then I wrote:

“That’s the process for your 7 Day Turnaround. It’s the same thing a Fortune 500 would do, just made so bloody simple a 2nd grade teacher could do it (more about that in a minute)”

Whoa nelly!

How in the world could anyone resist something that simple?

Using “more on that in a minute” hooked readers into reading more copy so they could find the answer.

If you can Google the letter and read it… it’s a great tutorial on these “micro-hooks”.

There’s at least a half dozen of them. It’s a virtual clinic on writing and implementing these sneaky little hook tricks.

One more thing….

If you’re utilizing this tactic, you need to make certain you CLOSE THE LOOP.

If you don’t give them what you said you would… they won’t trust you. And that kills your sales.

If the loop remains open, not only will they view you as a liar… you’ve ruined the buying climate.

But of course, you do want them to feel like the whole answer cannot be fulfilled until they buy your product
