Understanding Bichon Frise Dogs
While it is so easy to fall in love with any breed of dog, Bichon Frise dogs seem to be able to get the most attention when it comes to people falling in love at first sight. But there is more to know about selecting a dog than whether or not you think it is cute and adorable. You must research the personal traits that are common with that specific breed in order to make sure that your life and the life of the Bichon Frise can come together smoothly.
The last thing you want is to look back and realize that you made a mistake because the Bichon Frise did not live up to the expectations that you had already set in your mind. Learn about the breed and you may be surprised about how you feel in the end and maybe you may find yourself looking at getting another breed all together.
This small breed, known as the Bichon Frise, does not require a lot of exercise so they make perfect pets for the elderly or anyone who cannot get out a lot to a yard or a park and this means that apartment living would be fine as well. Even though they are small in size you do not want to be fooled as these little ones are actually very sturdy.
Also, the Bichon Frise make excellent watchdogs, but not attack dogs as they will alert you to the presence of a stranger but they generally will not attack due to their lack of aggressiveness. Also, even if you currently do not have any other pets at home, you may someday get the itch to adopt again and there will be no need to worry as the Bichon Frise is very well behaved around other pets.
As with everything in life there are good points and bad points. And Bichon Frise dogs are no exception to that rule. While their curly coat is excellent for those who suffer from allergies, it can mean a lot of grooming time so you must be willing to go through all of that.
Also, you must be prepared to take a little bit of extra time and compassion for house breaking because the Bichon Frise are well know for their problems with house breaking.
Their beautiful coat is not one that can go without maintenance as it needs to be brushed and clipped quit frequently. And as far as costly concerns, this particular breed of dog is well known for their skin problems, which could very well require a vet’s help in treating.
So now all you have to do is pick the one that you think is the best for you and your home.
